  • I was just happy to be off for Christmas. I didn't care about the presents or decor my main goal was sleep and relaxation. I worked too many days too many hours in a row to care about all those other things. My family was gone till the 23 so they didn't hear me complain about being over worked. Now they're back and have been home only 3 days and are sick. We need quarantine. No spreading the bug around. I don't want to sniffle and cough my way threw January. I was sick enough this year no more!
We had some good food. Christmas Eve after I left work at 5 we had home made crab cakes as big as our plates. Recipe by Paula dean. Then gumbo for Christmas Day. And waffles.
My first attempt at Skype with my friend in Germany was a little hit and miss. Finally got it working right but neither of us know how.
The rest of Christmas was spent cat napping with kashmire. And eating chocolates and cheese balls. Nom.
So how did you spend your days?

  • Christmas lasted about 5 minutes because my teenagers got electronics from Black Friday and we wanted to make sure they worked.  It takes a little bit from the whole Christmas mood when presents go so quick.  However, my girls wanted to watch their cousins open their presents and made a big stink about it, so my sister came over a couple nights ago.  I'm glad she did because that was the best Christmas present ever.  My nephew is almost two and has always had double vision.  He had eye surgery 9 days before presents and when he opened his, he kept saying Awww... to this giraffe pillow pet we got him and he kept trying to make everyone kiss it.  Then when he would hear an ambulance siren, he would run to my balcony doors.  He couldn't do that before because he couldn't see.  It really was inspiring. ~ The crab cakes sound good.

  •   Great you got to have a little break for christmas. Food + sleep = a good time! :)

  • Sounds like you had a good time.  I hope every one is well or at least getting better.
I visited Starr and her family on Christmas day.  We sat around talking and laughing.  We went to a Dim Sum restaurant for Christmas dinner.  We all had a great time.

  • You had me at crab cakes.

  • @hesacontradiction - He sounds adorable. Two year olds are really cute sometimes (sometimes not like when they are unhappy)

  • @C_L_O_G - mom sounds awful but my grandma is getting better (she's going to a dr tomorrow as she has complications because of the fibrosis in her lungs).
I've never had dim sun. Sounds interesting.

  • @buddy71 - they were really good!

  • I slept in, opened presents, went to an aunt's house, ate, fell asleep on her floor, came home, watched the new Christmas Story movie, went to bed.  Pretty good day for me.

  • @LadyofWaters - You should give dim sum a try.  It is tasty and fun.

  • Sounds like a nice holiday! We spent most of the day with my husband's parents. It was a much needed relaxing day.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - sounds like a good day to me as well.
