I've had a lot of fun this past 2 weeks looking up my family tree. I'm sure I've made a few mistakes along the way and have probably traced more than "my" family back lol But I'm good with my discoveries so far.
I have an idea next week on my vacation to hunt down some other information "on foot". I'm basically going on a tiny road trip across my state to photograph some of the graves I've found of relatives. Most of them are located in places I use to live so this should be pretty quick and easy. I don't imagine I'll be going to any court houses but who knows.Some interesting stories I've uncovered.Number one finding out that several branches of my tree are IRISH. I can now wear those "kiss me I'm IRISH" shirts
But seriously... I found out one of my lines got kicked out of England for upsetting Kind Edward. He threw them into Ireland and only forgave them after they brought severed wolf heads back to court (seems there was an abundance of wolves in that territory back then and he wanted them out).Another line came to America from Sweden. The first guy has the same name as my bf's son. Johanness. I know it's common but it made a connection in my heart. This same guy also died on my birthday in 1772 trying to stop a rebellion. Hmmm wonder what type of rebellions were going on back then??
We were on the wrong side! lolSo next week sometime I'll be checking out a couple of graveyards. Yes it's a little creepy but what else can I do close to home that won't cost too much?Hours been cut at work for a month or two now. So you say this economy thing is getting better? They hire part timers and cut full timers hours. More people working but getting less money. Everyones at crunch time.My parents should be getting back from visiting my grandma this weekend. We've chit chatted a few times on the phone. They've been gone 3 weeks.

@ANVRSADDAY - My uncle (who's descenced) also went family hunting. All the way to North Carolina and the early guys in the family tree. I can't afford to go there though. So I'm doing all the Mississippi contacts I could find.
yeah that is getting upsetting about the job outlook, everything is part time now since that way places won't have to deal with health insurance

@godfatherofgreenbay - my newest schedule I'm only getting 27 hrs. and it's all over the place. morning, middle shift, and even one shift that doesn't end till midnight. if i complain it gets worse. so i shut up and take it.

I've heard a lot of Walmart workers are striking and protesting because of the treatment they are receiving.
@godfatherofgreenbay - I can't see my store succeding in that. I've heard our store manager say he'd close the store if we unionized in anyway. Corse that was years ago when they were talking about how the unions could do it store by store when they were changing some law... im fuzzy on the details. im not all that a union person but they are looking better and better to me now.
yeah that is so creepy that if workers talk about organizing they shut down stores. I'm almost tempted to apply just to see if that would be the case.
