  • Just a quick photo dump...

    I was pretty proud of this home made pizza.  It was yummy.  
    Kashmir was able to have breakfast with me every morning when it was just me and her at the house.  Our routine was me eating cheerios and leaving her just a bit of milk at the bottom which she would sniff and usually leave.
    This is a picture posted online.  Supposidely my relatives on the "outlaw" side got married here back in 1600's I beleive.  
    Someone on the same line is suppose to be buried here.
    Kashmir took over my mother's seat.

    I'm started to get melancholi again.  Must be change in weather.
    My family trees getting a little hard to work now.  I think I may have relied a bit too much on other peoples trees.  You want to keep going and grasping at straws to do so.  Other peoples trees may not necessarily be the best ways to keep going though sometimes they're research isn't as good as what you could do on your own.
    Next week I have the start of a computer based schedule at work.  Even though I have an "open" schedule meaning I can work anytime... I've been working morning shift.  Well the computer doesn't have a brain and doesn't care about sleep for its workers.  So I have 7am to 4pm schedules plus 3pm to midnight schedules all in the same week.  No conjoining off days either.  Our boss is trying to get rid of people.  I struggle to keep going.
    I have a dr. appointment next week too.  I'm going to ask about getting the dna test to find out if i have the gene for ovarian/pancreatic cancer BRAC1and2 gene.  If I don't I'll feel a lot better.  If I do I'll feel exactly the same as I do now.

  • First bad storms of the season tonight. Guess ill be up till 3am tonight. Till the tornados leave.
    Finally found out an ancestor that had been bugging me in her aloofness. The ladies are always the hardest and she had a first name only and in one census so I guessed and ran into a perfect match then found all the documents to prove it afterwards. Guess I work backwards.
    Daddy is still being a tad bit controlling. He wants all my money to invest with his guy. So I do what he says and he changes the whole deal on me at the last moment. I am feeling bad cause he insulted my paltry amount of money. But it's my money. Shouldn't I be kind of tight when its all I got?

  • Good Mood Food

    How do you feed a good mood?  Get into a good mood that is?  I'm sitting here listening to Train.  I love Train.  It's my good mood food without the calories


    My Dad has basically tried to take over my family tree.  Which is ok in some ways but really annoying in others.  The nitpicking gets on my nerves but I'm happy he's interested.  Mom isn't interested at all.  She said she could care less.  But Daddy can be a control freak at times.  

    My trip got rearranged so badly because he wanted to go that it didn't even resemble what I envisioned.  But it's ok I got some details I needed and I can go back once they are gone (and I won't be found out before hand).  Seriously I love my Dad but he took over.  

    My aunt also talked for about 5 hours with chit chat catch up that I didn't have enough time to comfortably do what I wanted to.  But I did come back with some information.  And before I was even ready to work on Family Tree stuff this morning my Dad had disected the names dates and events (which can be helpful but basically tore apart my happy feelings on the subject).  I'll get it back in a little while but right now...

  • Im on vacation

    I can't afford to do anything really cool this year.  Not since "my" economy went to the crapper.  Thanks work for screwing the full time associate and hiring all the part timers to eventually replace us when we have too much of the "shit" they give out.  Oh wait was I being derogatory?

    So this weekend not doing much.  Hanging at the house waiting for the family to come back home.  
    Monday I'll be going on a tiny road trip.  Taking my camera to take pictures of some graves that belong in my family.  A quick swing by USM library to copy (hopefully) a journal one of my ancestors wrote.  And then I'm off to the coast for more grave photos.  While down there I'm hoping to take in a few sites.  
    Probably won't be gone but a day (hopefully).  
    Then it's back to the house and I have an appointment to see some financial guy that my dad deals with.  He's wanting me to "invest" in my future.  Said my savings is just sitting there and it needs to grow faster in a new and exciting way.  :-/
    Talked to my friend in Germany this afternoon.  It was a miss this time.  20 minutes and we struggled to keep the conversation going.

  • I've had a lot of fun this past 2 weeks looking up my family tree.  I'm sure I've made a few mistakes along the way and have probably traced more than "my" family back lol  But I'm good with my discoveries so far.

    I have an idea next week on my vacation to hunt down some other information "on foot".  I'm basically going on a tiny road trip across my state to photograph some of the graves I've found of relatives.  Most of them are located in places I use to live so this should be pretty quick and easy.  I don't imagine I'll be going to any court houses but who knows.  
    Some interesting stories I've uncovered.
    Number one finding out that several branches of my tree are IRISH.  I can now wear those "kiss me I'm IRISH" shirts
    But seriously... I found out one of my lines got kicked out of England for upsetting Kind Edward.  He threw them into Ireland and only forgave them after they brought severed wolf heads back to court (seems there was an abundance of wolves in that territory back then and he wanted them out).
    Another line came to America from Sweden.  The first guy has the same name as my bf's son.  Johanness.  I know it's common but it made a connection in my heart.  This same guy also died on my birthday in 1772 trying to stop a rebellion.  Hmmm wonder what type of rebellions were going on back then??    We were on the wrong side!  lol
    So next week sometime I'll be checking out a couple of graveyards.  Yes it's a little creepy but what else can I do close to home that won't cost too much?
    Hours been cut at work for a month or two now.  So you say this economy thing is getting better? They hire part timers and cut full timers hours.  More people working but getting less money.  Everyones at crunch time.  
    My parents should be getting back from visiting my grandma this weekend.  We've chit chatted a few times on the phone.  They've been gone 3 weeks.

  • I finally got past my headache with all the same names in my family tree.  Now I can rest a little from it.  

    Made some home made pizza tonight.  I ate half of it because it was so yummy.  I will regret that later!  
    Work was work.  
    Stayed up late watching Vampire Diaries last night. 
    And I'm about ready to crash today.

  • I have a problem

    I am addicted to solving "the mystery".  Going threw my geneology is driving me just a tad bit insane.  

    In the past week I have started this family tree 4 times.  I had to delete a few times because well the first one got a little too complicated!  
    The the last 2 times I kept trying to marry one of my "guys" to his grandmother.  I did this 2 times!!  It's the wording in this book that has the majority of my family history listed.  
    The guy makes this tree with different limbs and leaves on it.  The trunk is the "patriarch" of the then living branches and leaves of the tree.  That part was fairly simple to put together.  But the "guys" that came before this "patriarch" is all written in paragraph form.  And to make it harder they are all juniors and seniors... and all their sons have the same names...  all the wives are named Elizabeth to boot.  So I have 4 Williams, 2 Christophers, and 4 Elizabeths.  2 of the Williams had 2 wives and their children are also Williams and Christophers!!!  
    So twice trying to make this part of my family tree I had a William marrying his Elizabeth (grandmother)...  It's like my brain the book and the paper I'm tracing it on doesn't click in some way.  
    The mystery of my family tree turns into a circle.  

    But the interesting things I've found out (other than I'm a little warped in the brain)....

    I'm Irish on my Gram's side.  
    We were rich at one time because one of the very very far up the tree guy had property in both Virginia and North Carolina (this is when there were only 4 states on our American map) and he was able to divide up this property along with his slaves to all his children.  Yes there were slaves owned in my family (did not know this until today).  The only reason I know this was there was a will stating this and the names of all the slaves.  
    On my Gramp's side I beleive I will find that our name was changed sometime around my Great Grandfather.  

    I also have a sneaking suspicion that I am not German like my whole family thought.  I have a feeling we are going to turn out French instead.  

    So far I am 1/4 Irish, 1/4 English  Because Gram's side came from Ireland and my Grandpa's side came from England (he already did the research I just don't have it plugged in yet can't read his writing but I remember the stories).

    I've been so obsessed I failed to do my laundry today.  I just remembered it about 30 minutes ago.  Guess it's not going to get done today.

  • Hello

    Its been a while since I've visited here. Can't sleep tonight. Many reasons.
    Ate too much BBQ nachoes and all that's been going on is running around in my head.
    Lost 20 pounds so far on my diet. Still hungry all the time.
    My house has been a revolving door lately. Friends and relatives sneaking in and out.
    Works in high gear too. And it's all just seemed like its too busy to breathe sometimes.
    My friend at work lost her father suddenly. He had been waiting on a heart and his suddenly went out.
    Lots of breakins going on around here as well.
    Tuesday I'll be on my own for another two weeks while my family goes to visit my grandma. Then when they get back I'll be on vacation. I'm planning to have a little jaunt at least don't know where.
    Got my 71 yr old dad a smart phone and have been teaching him the ins and outs of the electronic world. To be honest that's where most of my time has gone this past few weeks.
    Last night I started looking up my ancestry on www.ancestry.com it's really quite interesting but I'll have to finish when everyone's awake bc I can't remember last names and dates for my dads side. Moms side filled in really well. I have a line threw here that was in Michigan. And that's just unreal for all us cold natured people.
    Anyway just an update... I'll try to do better.

  • Had the last 3 days off. It gave me enough time to morph into an Avatar

    Corse I found out after the fact that I was allergic to my new skin.

    This stuff felt so cool and nice on my skin till I took it off then it felt like it was burning. Not sure what it was but I won't be using it again even though I liked the beginning. Wish I wasn't so allergic.
    Ps I would have smiled but I couldn't move my face after it dried.
